Hujan Badai Itu Cuaca Terburuk di Mekkah

Selama sembilan tahun terakhir membimbing jamaah haji ke Arab Saudi, Pengelola KBIH Almasyur Tulangbawang, Suryanto (45) mengaku, badai yang terjadi di Mekkah pada Jumat (11/9/2015) sore, merupakan cuaca terburuk di Mekkah.

“Tahun 2009, pernah banjir bandang. Mobil-mobil sampai hanyut. Tetapi, itu terjadi di Jeddah,” kata Suryanto, Sabtu (12/9/2015) pagi.

Apabila terjadi hujan di Mekkah, Suryanto mengatakan, banjir memang biasa terjadi. Meski begitu, air akan cepat surut dengan sendirinya. Hal tersebut pun tidak menimbulkan dampak signifikan.

“Sejak 2007, saya selalu mendampingi jamaah haji setiap tahun. Tetapi baru kali ini, saya menemui hujan badai seperti itu,” kata Suryanto.

Badai di Mekkah membuat sebuah alat berat (crane) jatuh menimpa Masjidil Haram, Jumat (11/9/2015) sore. Akibatnya, 107 orang jamaah haji meninggal dunia. Sementara, 238 orang lainnya mengalami luka-luka.

“Tahun (haji) lalu, ada juga bangunan roboh. Bangunannya masih dalam tahap proses. Dari jamaah haji tidak ada korban, tetapi tidak tahu kalau pekerja,” ucap Suryanto.
